What's New?

Driving comfort and convenience are top of mind when it comes to the enhancements you'll find on the 2021 Ford Explorer. The Explorer gets a few new interior styling details and an eight-way front row passenger's seat on the Limited, ST, and Platinum trims. On the XLT trim, first-row heated seats and a heated steering wheel now come standard.

Limited trim packages now include a hands-free foot-activated liftgate, power tilt and telescopic steering column, third row Powerfold® seats, memory driver's seat, driver and passenger side memory functionality, 110V/150W AC power outlet, power and heated glass, and power-folding sideview mirrors with Autofold.

On the outside, you'll find more wheel options and new standard wheel styles. Standard on the base model are 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, while 18-inch five-spoke Sparkle Silver-painted aluminum wheels come standard on the XLT trim. The ST trim features 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, while the Platinum trim comes standard with 21-inch bright-machined face aluminum wheels with luster nickel-painted pockets. Premium painted 20-inch aluminum wheels and 20-inch hand-polished aluminum wheels are optional on select trims.

Other changes for 2021 on the Ford Explorer are a new optional XLT Sport Appearance Package and an optional Cargo Area Management System for the base, XLT, Limited, and SLT trims. The Cargo Area Management System comes standard on the Platinum trim. The ST High-Performance Pack adds high-performance brake pads to its standard offerings.
