2024 Ford Mustang Preview
The new 2024 Ford Mustang introduces an array of unique design elements, features, technologies, and appearance and performance packs. The Mustang EcoBoost® and GT models return in both coupe and convertible body styles for the next generation, bringing with them an all-new beast engineered with groundbreaking street-legal track-ready performance — the Mustang Dark Horse™.
And for the purists, the manual transmission lives on.

2024 Ford Mustang Performance
The 2024 Ford Mustang is no prancing pony — it’s an untamed thoroughbred waiting to release the full potential of its muscles.* The 2024 Mustang is precision-engineered for exceptional street and track performance. The 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine is joined to a ten-speed automatic transmission. A potent 5.0L Coyote V8 engine will be tuned in two variants — a GT-exclusive V8 targeting over 480 horsepower and a Dark Horse-exclusive V8 anticipated to be the most powerful 5.0L Coyote V8 targeting 500 horsepower. The V8 engine will be available with a TREMEC® six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic transmission.
Whichever transmission you select, six unique drive modes — normal, sport, slippery, drag, track, and custom — are available so you can tailor the dynamics of your Mustang to your preferences. The optional active pothole mitigation actively monitors suspension, braking, and steering to help reduce impacts that can cause potential wheel damage.
New for 2024, the Mustang features Remote Rev technology that enables you to rev the engine of your Mustang remotely. And the new Electronic Drift Brake, co-developed alongside professional driver Vaughn Gittin, Jr., helps provide brake, wheel, and throttle control through every drift. For those who sport a track suit on the weekends, the Performance Pack and GT Performance Pack, optional on select trims, offer enhanced upgrades for maximum on-track performance, traction, and comfort.

2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse
The first-ever Mustang Dark Horse features aggressive styling elements and a unique body kit designed to reduce the drag coefficient. Under the hood, the Dark Horse is exclusively available with the 500-horsepower Coyote V8 engine and a TREMEC manual transmission. It will also be available in two additional track-dedicated variants: the Dark Horse S offers balanced street and track performance and the Dark Horse R is crafted exclusively for SCCA and grassroots racing.

The revamped interior of the 2024 Ford Mustang features an all new, jet-inspired digital cockpit. For 2024, the Mustang retains its signature tri-bar LED lighting, but with a twist — literally — now horizontal versus the sixth-generation vertical design.
For an ultra-sleek appearance, the new Bronze Design Series Appearance Pack offers exclusive Sinister Bronze wheels and bronze exterior badges.
